ABOUT US
McMaster Bioinformatics is an MSU-constituted club dedicated to promoting the field of bioinformatics and its applications within the McMaster community. Bioinformatics is the use of programming languages, statistics, mathematics, and information engineering, to analyze and handle big data from various biological sources. These fields include genetics and molecular biology, epidemiology, and ecology.

Our club operates through the establishment and adherence to three pillars: exploration, teaching, and collaboration. Through exploration, we will expose the McMaster community to bioinformatics through digital and physical media and spread awareness of the relevant concepts. Through teaching, we host workshops and teach bioinformatics concepts to interested members of the McMaster community. Through collaboration, we provide a platform for community members to showcase their skills and abilities through accessible events.
